Abitare Bicocca Città (ABC) is a service offered by the cooperative La Cordata in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca. It has two main goals: to facilitate student access to quality housing at affordable, regulated costs in line with local agreements, and to promote awareness of rental contract rules and the social value of rent control within the local area.

La Cordata is a social cooperative founded in 1989, operating in the metropolitan area of Milan to address a wide range of care and social support needs, with a particular focus on housing. It designs, develops, and manages residential initiatives using a mix of housing solutions and services as a key strategy to promote the well-being of individuals and communities. These include integrated hospitality facilities, social housing projects, and temporary accommodations, offering short-, medium-, and long-term stays. Various types of hospitality are combined with psycho-pedagogical and social support services.
We provide accessible and high-quality accommodations for people in need of temporary housing solutions: out-of-town students and workers, cultural and budget travelers, organized groups, individuals and families facing socio-economic difficulties, single mothers with children, people with disabilities, and minors and adults in vulnerable situations. Alongside personalized and accessible services, we implement initiatives aimed at developing the local areas in which we operate. These initiatives foster meaningful relationships for our guests and neighborhood residents and aim to develop services or activities that enhance their well-being.
La Cordata’s main headquarters are located within Villaggio Barona, an urban project that brings together commercial activities, social services, housing solutions, and cultural events with a shared goal: social and territorial development.
